Several subcontractors on the Newhope-Placentia Trunk Sewer Replacement were unfamiliar with California apprentice standards and therefore not meeting the requirements. TSG notified the prime contractor then undertook a program to communicate the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) requirements directly to all subcontractors and make sure the needed apprentices were dispatched and on site. This prevented potential fines from the DIR as well as fees to the California Apprentice Council (CAC) for any owed training.
