PLA Negotiation and Administration / Jobs Coordination
The Solís Group performs a full range of Project Labor Agreement administration services, from negotiation of the initial agreement through project completion. We assist with labor relations and dispute resolution, targeted-worker jobs coordination and referrals, and prevailing wage compliance and labor code enforcement.
We place a strong emphasis on maintaining productive relationships with all partners and stakeholders in a PLA or similar agreement, including union representatives, contractors, construction managers, community organizations, and apprenticeship programs. We emphasize education and training from Day One, so all parties recognize TSG as a resource for information and assistance, and are aware of their rights and obligations very early on. By proactively investigating and enforcing wage and compliance issues, we generally resolve problems before they impact a project. Very few labor-related issues on our projects lead to arbitration, and most never even make it to the formal grievance process.
TSG also acts as Jobs Coordinator to help clients fulfill targeted-worker goals by connecting the right opportunities with the right workers. We understand the intricacies of the apprenticeship and referral process, and ensure there are no mistakes or excuses. We inform contractors explicitly of their need to use targeted workers, teach them the process for doing so, and ensure dispatch halls and apprentice programs have these workers available when requested.
